Was ist Atherosklerose?

Atherosklerose

Eine chronische, fortschreitende Erkrankung. Sie ist gekennzeichnet durch die Ansammlung von fettigem und fibrösem Material sowie Immunzellen in der innersten Schicht der Arterien, die zur Bildung von atherosklerotischen Plaques führt.1,2

Arteriosklerose

Verengung und Versteifung von Arterien, die möglicherweise zu einem eingeschränkten Blutfluss und dadurch zu einer Unterversorgung von Organen und Geweben führen können. Beispielsweise wegen atherosklerotischer Plaques.1,2

Manifestationen der Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen

Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen umfassen eine heterogene Gruppe von Krankheiten, die sowohl atherosklerotischer als auch nicht atherosklerotischer Natur sind.

 

Atherosklerotische Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen (ASCVD)3,4

  • Koronare Arterienkrankheit (ischämische Herzkrankheit): akute Koronarsyndrome (MI, instabile Angina pectoris), stabile Angina
  • Zerebrale Arterienerkrankung: ischämischer Schlaganfall, TIA
